Day – Cation: Time in the here and now

With so many away currently I decided to take advantage of the stillness and see how a day – break could work for me.

Shelving the ongoing search for a perfect holiday here or abroad and leaving my lap top was a happy time and there was quite some activity in the wilderness.

My quest for a moment went quite well as it goes. There was peace and quiet in abundance which suits me. But what was available to me now, in the present?

These may look quite non – specific but vary from wild cherry to the wild service tree once found at Chequers and taken as a cure for colic as well as used to flavour beer before the introduction of hops. This native tree trail is a great little copse to wonder through at leisure and get an insight into what grows locally and why.

A beautiful peacock stayed long enough to shoot

Last though not least of my day in the present: thanks to Nita Rao whose installations brought some culture of the arts and crafts type. I spent some time wondering how she managed to fix her sculptures to the trees or if she prepared them beforehand but that seems unlikely logistically.

“Better than a dirty bed,” I overheard someone comment as I started to again look forward to galleries returning to how they were, e.g. Frida Kahlo at Tate Britain.

But back to the here and now…..
