Vigil held in market place

ONE year on from the start of the biggest conflict in Europe since WW2 people gathered in the market place in support. 

Ukrainians forced from their homes now hosted in Charnwood donned the Sockman in their country’s colours to thank the people of the area who have stood by them since Russia invaded their country.  

MP for Loughborough Jane Hunt joined them and said the area continues to give Ukrainians refuge. 

A minute’s silence was held in memory of those who have lost their lives in the conflict, led by PM Rishi Sunak who again emphasised to other G7 countries the need to stand up to Putin, the president of Russia. 

Following a visit to Kyiv by President of the United States Joe Biden brought in by train Sunak stressed the need to get more armaments through to the soldiers fighting Russia.    

Jane Hunt comforted the refugees, putting her arms around them telling them they were welcome
