Last parts of the region are under water following heavy rain overnight and a major incident declared.
After torrential downpours through the early morning hours water levels rose to cut off urban parts as well as country roads deeming Leicestershire one of the worst hit areas in the country.
Weather man Phil Morrish told BBC Radio Leicester his Mountsorrel station had seen the amount of rain we would expect in about three weeks at this time of year – in the space of 24 hours.

This morning traffic and transport struggled to continue with trains and buses cancelled and drivers found their way to work impassable.
