Car crashes into motorcyclist

It took some time to move a motorcyclist into an ambulance following a collision with a car at a busy junction.

As an air ambulance circled overhead it appeared the driver of the car was taken into custody.

The driver of the wrecked motorbike seemed to have suffered some injuries following the collision at the junction of Ling Road and Bainbridge Road, Loughborough at around midday today (28/02/26).

Several police and ambulances attended the incident described by a police officer as a ‘crime scene’.

However on a Facebook page for the town Richard Hopper said: ” I stopped and walked over and asked about what actually happened as I’m a fellow biker and (it’s) also near to where I live. The police says he was more concerned about his bike and he wasn’t in a bad way, got off very lucky”.

The south – bound lane of Ling Road was closed before the roundabout at Terry Yardley Way and traffic was held up for some time with long tail – backs.
